A few weeks ago I shared this video on Twitter. It was very moving for me. Kids learning mindfulness is something I’ve been feeling very passionate about. I’ve even been thinking about how I can incorporate it into future career goals.
I’m sharing it here because an organization I follow, Mindful Schools, recently sent out an email that the video will be shown this weekend on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday.
Take a moment on Sunday morning at 11am ET/PT and watch.
In addition to the video, Oprah will be interviewing Jon Kabat-Zinn, a man who has been called the father of the Mindfulness Movement in America. I have listened to many interviews with him, including this one with Anderson Cooper. This interview really helped me overcome my wariness of meditation and commit to beginning mindfulness practice this year.
Take a moment this weekend to learn more about mindfulness and the non-judgmental awareness of the present moment with Jon Kabat-Zinn and Oprah. Super Soul Sunday airs at 11am ET/PT on the OWN network.
Watching this show would definitely work for a #selfcare30 activity too!
“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
Kabat-Zinn’s book, Wherever You Go There You Are, is on my reading list for this year, and the universe definitely conspired for me to read it. I had added it to my Amazon wish list but then it just appeared right in front of me when I was browsing the children’s section at Barnes & Noble, for a much lower price no less. It was totally in the wrong place in the store but in the exact right place for me to find it.
Take a moment this weekend and add this book to your reading list. I’ll be sharing my own reading list for this year soon, so stay tuned! (Update – My 2015 Book List is now posted )

You are awesome, did you know that? I hardly ever watch TV, and if I do it would certainly not be OWN. I would have never known about the JKZ Oprah interview. I know which Andersoon Cooper interview you talk about though, as we watch 60 min at times; it was quite mind-opening for my husband. Today will be the first time I will ever record something on the DVR. Thanks for sharing this info!
