Mindful Memory Keeping

Inspired living through mindfulness, creativity, and by embracing vulnerability

Take a Moment

August 8, 2015

In the Take a Moment series I encourage you to take a moment for memory keeping and mindfulness. I add in some randomness, share new ideas I’m learning, and let you know about interesting things I find along the way. Enjoy!

Take a Moment for some desktop wallpaper inspiration. As part of this series I’m pairing a quote, curated from my Inspirational Quotes board on Pinterest, with one of the amazing images from Unsplash. Click the image above, then right click to save it to your computer and use it as your desktop wallpaper.

Following up from the previous Take a Moment, kikki. K has a Mindfulness Journal.

A great roundup of summer photography tips over at Simple Scrapper.

Digging this {i heart makers} series.

It’s not too late to join The August Break. Now that I’m getting my mojo back I’m hoping to jump in soon over on Instagram.

Another beautiful episode from On Being. I have a social change background so learning about contemplative work related to activism was VERY interesting to me.

These cartoons connected with inspirational quotes is right up my alley.

I haven’t blogged in a couple weeks and that feeling of guilt kept arising. This post came at just the right time.

Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray. – Rumi

I clicked every single link and now have 2 mermaid prints as a result :P One for me and another for a friend. And I’ve now been introduced to Unsplash and Susannah Conway. For that, I’m thankful!

I’m glad you discovered some new goodies. My girls love mermaids too. =) Unsplash is so cool and Death to the Stock Photo is another good site. I’ve been a fan of Susannah for a few years now. I’m so glad you connected with her work. <3 Thanks for reading Jamie!

I love this quote – taking a moment, letting my heart lead, are things that I try to be conscious of every single day. Thanks for the beautiful image.

Thank you Jennifer! I took a longer look around your site and love how you’re combining authenticity and vulnerability with education. I’m hoping to do something similar. I subscribed to your blog through Bloglovin’ and can’t wait to read more. Thank you for visiting!

    HI Marina:

Yes, that RUMI quote is so inspiring. Also, I was TOTALLY moved by the Mirabai Bush podcast as well – so pertinent to our work with mindfulness. I like how she applied the take 3 breaths idea to sending emails. I try to just do it whenever I think of it.

    Thanks for a lovely post,

    Amy

Thank you Amy! I was so happy to discover Mirabai Bush too and kind of surprised I hadn’t heard her name before given that she is so closely connected to many of the other mindfulness leaders (Jon Kabat-Zinn, Jack Kornfield, etc) here in the US. I appreciate you Amy and everything you do. =)
