Mindful Memory Keeping

Inspired living through mindfulness, creativity, and by embracing vulnerability

Lament of a cracked iPhone screen

May 8, 2014

IMG_0010 Today I dropped my iPhone.

Its happened so often before.

I didn’t think anything of it, as I picked it off the floor.

But this time something was different. To my horror and dismay.

This time my iPhone had cracked. I didn’t know what to say.

I ran to my husband to tell him, my luck had just run out.

He took a quick look and said yup. You have a few months to hold out.

A few months til iPhone 6 he continued. Hopefully it will last until then.

I thought no way can I do it and off to the computer I ran. I quickly did some research.

There were lots of choices for me. We could fix it ourselves, take it somewhere, or upgrade to iPhone 5c (or 5s).

After (what seemed like) an eternity spent lamenting, the answer became crystal clear.

Apple Care + to the rescue! I was no longer living in fear.

I have already made my appointment. We will be making the drive up today.

All I can say is phew! Everything turned out okay.

I hope you enjoyed my little poem. It is so funny how one drop of a favorite device can send us into a panic. Luckily, this time around I was saved and can still covet the iPhone 6 instead of “wasting” my upgrade. Let this be a lesson to all you girls and boys out there. No high ledges and get a good case!
